Hello

I'm Jennifer. I’m originally a St. Louis native and moved to Denver in 2010. I have wonderful family and friends back in St. Louis, but I'm thrilled with my decision to live in Colorado. I've been married to my husband, Sterling, for 7 years and have been a proud dog mom to our black lab named Max. I love to be active – usually switching it up between yoga, working out in our home gym or enjoying hiking and biking outdoors. Taking my dog on walks and road trips with my husband to experience the beautiful Rocky Mountains is one of the things that makes me most happy. I love travel, wine, cooking, cookbooks, gardening, movies and organization.

Work

I truly enjoy being a creative and designer. I have a firm understanding of the many interactive and engaging ways that we can connect with consumers: web applications, print design, event marketing, interactive media and social media channels. These trends feel like they change daily — and they truly do. It’s an exciting time to be a designer. We constantly get to challenge ourselves to deliver relevant and current solutions.

Over the years, I've finessed my creative style and ability and developed a firm understanding of the strategy and marketing communication needed behind a great campaign. I enjoyed spending the bulk of my career at Ansira where I was an Associate Creative Director. Here, I worked on developing new ways to reach consumers through effective creative and strategic solutions for large, national brands. It was also during my time here that I became a great creative manager and finessed my skills in running a budget, overseeing other creatives and adhering to a timeline, putting out engaging work for these brands.

At Brink Design Studio, I've had the privilege of collaborating with numerous startup ventures headquartered in Denver. My responsibilities encompassed a wide array of tasks, including brand development, crafting sales collateral, devising social media strategies, designing websites, curating content, and conceptualizing packaging designs. Working on smaller businesses was fulfilling in a completely different way from what I was used to in a larger agency. To be a part of an idea or business that doesn't even yet have a name, let alone a brand, is exciting and presents infinite possibility. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing some of these companies grow and expand over the years. I also work as a contract designer, offering my creative skills to other agencies and businesses seeking specialized expertise.

My Colorado Garden Blog – A Passion Project

Currently, I’m also a content creator for my Colorado Garden & Outdoor Living Blog, Beneath the Maple. Here, I’m able to apply my eye for design and get creative in my home and garden while telling my story online. This is a hobby project that’s challenged me creatively. In my management of this blog, I’ve learned so much more about SEO, digital marketing and content creation for social media platforms in order to make an online blog business profitable.
